At some point my computer started suffering a delay of >1
minute at start-up, after XP had loaded. By using
selective start-up, I found that when I disabled the
Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service, start-up was
normal. With the service enabled, I have no access to my
file system until it finishes doing whatever it does.

Any suggestions?
