Windows Vista Home Premium Edition

Using Windows explorer with <Windows Vista Basic> or <Windows Aero>
appearance selected the line round the selected
folder on the left is so faint that it is almost invisible. Likewise for the
selected file on the right.

The set-up is:
Mobo ASUS M2NPV-VM
Processor AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Memory Kingston 1GB
Monitor Samsung 913v
Mass storage Assorted HD,CD and DVD read/write devices
Keyboard Logitec, cordless
Mouse Ditto
Scanner, Printer etc. The Video output from the mobo is used.

The monitor driver is set to 1280 x 1024, 60 Hz refresh rate (But I've tried
them all to no avail).

Putting a CRT monitor in place of the Samsung LCD cures the problem but when
I swap the hardware Vista changes the driver;so, maybe, it's the driver.
Although I have tried the Microsoft driver and also the one downloaded from
Samsung. Also tried the video display driver supplied with Vista as well as
one downloaded from Asus.
However, perusal of all the forums that I can find makes no mention of this
problem which makes me think I'm kind of unique!
Any, useful, suggestions gratefully received.
