I'm trying to download defender and i keep getting an install error of:
"Microsoft client protection has been found. Please remove that product and
rerun the setup". Please advise what this means. The only anti virus i have
is Microsoft security essentials. Thanks Amy

Hello Amy:

If you already have Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) running, you
don't need Windows Defender too as Windows Defender is said to be an
integral part of MSE.

If you are running Microsoft Security Essentials, you do not need to run
Windows Defender.

Microsoft Security Essentials is designed to disable Windows Defender in
order to manage the PC’s real-time protection, including anti-virus,
rootkits, Trojans and spyware.
