Don't forget the Microsoft Product Lifecycle! See below:
Windows 95 - mainstream support retired 31st Dec 2000
Windows 98 - mainstream support retired 30th Jun 2002
Windows 98SE - mainstream support retired 30th Jun 2002
Windows ME - mainstream support retired 31st Dec 2003
Microsoft will not tend to develop applications that
support the 16bit operating systems mentioned above. As
they operating systems are "end-of-life" it is assumed
that you will steadily upgrade to the latest technology
(i.e. Windows XP). Don't hold your breath for a 98
version of AntiSpyware as it is currently a 32Bit
application and I do not think Microsoft would re-code it
for an "end-of-life" operating system*.
*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS SOLELY MY PERSONAL OPINION AND
DOES NOT NECESSARY REFLECT THE THOSE DECISIONS MADE BY
MICROSOFT CORP.
