Windows 98 Internet Connection

Hi Folks - Here's the problem .... User restored old copy of registry. At
the time the old registry was copied, we were using Artisoft Ishare (proxy
software) to access Internet. Ever since restore, computer can NOT access
the Internet, but CAN access the local network. I have tried all the usual
procedures (re-install network adapter, TCPIP, winsock), but nothing has
worked to restore the Internet connection. I am ready to re-format the hard
drive and reload. Does anyone have any additional suggestions to prevent my
reformat and reload option? Thanks.
