Windows 2000 Client does not display Japanese characters in Verdan

For applications with Windows 2000 that have Japanese keyboard installed,
Verdana displays Japanese characters as all boxes (meaning the font is not
supported). However, works on Windows XP. Is there an updated font available
for Windows 2000?
