I want to change my O/S from Windows ME to Windows 2000
Pro. I understand that you cannot upgrade from ME to 2000.
If I install a new 2000 O/S what is the best procedure?

Thanks in advance
Tom

Whatever you do, do not update/upgrade.
All you need to do is to make a clean install of
windows 2000. This will format the whole HDD and
you will loose everything in that drive.

Back up your data first, then do a clean install then
install your programs again and then put back you data.

Well IF ONE must accidentally UPGRADE one's OS from ME to 2000, then one
must also ACCIDENTALLY make sure that one makes an accidental BACKUP B4
upgrading just in case one meets with an ACCIDENT along the way...

Basically, B4 playing with one's OS, the best practice states that ONE
should have a backup (IMAGE using say GHOST or Drive Image) then go ahead
with upgrades, major chamges, etc.

Well Ted, from the flavour of your post, surely you must
jest. Windows ME --> windows 2000 upgrade is NOT supported.
