Hi all, I hope someone out there can help. Sometime
earlier today my Win2K blue screened. When I tried to
reboot the boot process locked up during the initial
booting screen (the one before the monitor changes to the
target resolution and the blue desktop background). After
several unsuccessful attempts to get it to boot in regular
and safe mode I attempted to perform a repair operation
using the installation CDROM and the Emergency Repair
Disk. After that, it gets a bit further into the boot
process but shortly after the initial boot screen is
replaced with the desktop background colored screen, a
dialog is displayed that says windows will reboot due to
an error. It says that:
C:winnt\system32\services.exe has encountered an
unexpected error, error code 128.
Can anyone tell me how to correct this so I don't have to
wipe the disk and reload everything?
Thanks in advance,
Bob
