Weird Laserjet Properties Pages

I have a HP4000 directly connected to my Compaq PC. The
problem I have is that when I go into the properties of
the printer, the page is half cut off. I tried modifying
my screen resolution (set to 1024x768) and I tried the
latest drivers from the HP web site. I need to change the
settings such as double sided printing, lower print
quality and the like. I can't change these as I can only
partially see the screen they are on.
