Digital CAM JVC or Canon

Which should I buy? Only as a entry level weekend hobby of taking video of
my gran-kids and transferring it to the hard drive then to a DVD.

Both are on sale for $300

Microsoft Windows XP Home, Service Pack 2
Compaq Presario SR1500NX
AMD Sempron(tm) 3000+, 1.999 GHz
L2 Cache Size 512 KB
1,024 DDR-SDRAM (PC3200)

Am using a JVC myself. Firewire connection used to connect to PC.

JFI,

I personally use Sony older model for casual purposes, and am seeking for a
higher end for our online business.

During my research, I found Canon seems to have a higher "review" on many
models for which I might purchase for the business use.

I guess most brands are pretty much the same for the general purposes, but
since I am not an expert so I certainly could be wrong.
