I have posted MANY questions concerning problems I have
been having that have taken much of my time trying to
solve. I have posted here hoping to get SERIOUS answers
and DETAILED SOLUTIONS to help me with my problems, but I
have noticed many postings (including some of mine) NEVER
get answered, and even when they do, some M/F will list
a "workaround" (usually a one liner)that never addresses
the root problem or gives a list of several probable
causes - usually one probable cause in about three words
and that is it. Most replys assume everybody is a G/D
computer guru and rarely gives enough detail for the
average user to even try what has been told to do. If we
all knew how to "ping this", "check this", "edit
that" "etc, etc" we would not be here in the first place.
Some people give you only links to their business web
sites so to get you there to buy something. I have seen
some that were detailed enough to at least take up two to
three minutes of time to test, but most take less than 15
seconds. Do I have anybody out there who feels the same?
Come on guys and gals, post your repy and maybe we can get
answers that have a little more depth to them!!! WE MAY
NOT BE COMPUTER WIZARDS BUT WE'RE NOT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS
EITHER!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you 100%. I have posted several problems and
never received a response. And I have read many (most)
that don't get to the cause of the problem or the proper
way to fix it, just as you said. I have spent too much
time looking on other websites to get answers which should
be supplied by Micro$oft. Who are these so-called MVP's
anyway? And what are they being paid for? Maybe they are
too busy coming up with fixes for their product.

MVPs do not work for Microsoft and we are not paid by Microsoft.

Tell me, what are *you* doing to help other computer users? If it's
nothing, do you have the right to demand help from others? By all means
request help, but do not demand it.

I'm not paid to be an MVP! I answer posts when I have time. If you wish to
assist, feel free!

We who post questions or problems are not experts, as you
MVPs claim to be. I do help others whenever possible. If I
expressed my true feelings about it, my post would be
deleted by anti-freedom of speech censors.

I'm sorry our free support falls short of your expectations. Perhaps I
should quit my job so that I can spend more time answering questions on
newsgroups.

If you have an issue with Microsoft's support for its products, now that's a
different issue. Complain to Microsoft if you think they're falling short.

If you're not getting answers to question you post in newsgroups, you might
like to try reading the following to improve the chances that someone will
be willing to help you.

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Remember, these newsgroups are provided so that users of Microsoft's
products can interact with each other to learn about the technology. Nobody
gets paid to provide help or is under any obligation to answer your
questions.
