When attempting to run Warcraft III The Frozen Throne on
my personal computer, I get the error:
"Warcraft III was unable to initialize DirectX. Please
ensure you have DirectX 8.1 or newer installed and that
your display drivers are current. DirectX may be found on
your Warcraft III install CD under Options."
At first I thought it was a compatibility problem between
9.0b and Warcraft III TFT, so I uninstalled WC3, deleted
everything related to DirectX (including all 80 or so
registry entries) and reinstalled both WC3 and Direct X,
but yet I still got the error. I checked on the display
driver for my graphics (Nvidia Vanta) and the driver that
is currently installed is from 1999 but yet when I "Search
Microsoft for new drivers/updates" it finds none. Ideas?
