A few months ago I recorded over 100 cd's onto my Windows
Media Player. I left for vacation and was told the people
in my home had to re boot up the computer and my files
were lost or stolen. If anyone knows how to recover lost
or deleted files PLEASE let me know. Thank-you.

Your music files may just not be loaded into your playlist any more, even
though they are still on your hard drive. Do a Search/All files and
folders, for one of the songs by name, or for "mp3" or "wma," depending on
the format you stored the music in. There are some viruses which will
delete mp3 files, and sometimes people who are screwing around with your
computer inadvertently click the "delete" button. I personally never let
others screw around with my computer in my absence, and I suspect you won't
in the future.

Please let me know if you find your missing music files.

Regards,
Ian.

sounds like the people in your home need a good a** kickin!! If they
reformatted your hard drive and you didn't backup those files you're
screwed. They're lucky that they didn't do it to me, or I would throw them
out of a 2nd or even a 3rd story window.
