I have an old P90 machine that im trying to set up as a print and file
server for my home network. I chose to use windows 2000 for this
server. But i ran into a problem. My personal system (which is also
running on w2k) crashes repeatedly when the server is on. Every other
operating system in the network is unaffected by the server's
presence.

The server is running sp3, and on a different key than my personal
system (unfortunately neither key is a legitimate one) but i have
never had a problem running systems on the same network with the same
key anyways. I have tried reinstalling the server OS with two
different keys, both with the same results.

Can anyone offer any help or advice?

I would check your event logs under administrator tools. See if there are
any errors related to browser or master browser. Also, it would help if you
could describe what you mean when you say it crashes. It is very difficult
to crash W2K, so what is your definition of "crashes." Is it locking up?
Is it just a particular service that is stopping? Or an app that is "not
responding?"
