I'm behind in my reading of this group but haven't seen any mention of this
performance update:

and reliability update:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

These are the 32 bit versions. 64 bit are also available.

Didn't see anything on the update group on these.

Wondering if anyone has tried these yet and what results they yielded.

Not sure if it was just my imagination, but the performance update seems to
help quite a bit actually. The 2 computers I applied the update are Intel
based DualCore CPU (not the Core2Duo, a generation before that).

I've installed them here, I've never really suffered from poor disk
performance before and can't tell any difference.

Applied these a couple of days ago, nothing different.
