Do you have any 3rd party firewall installed?

It's most likely a firewall of some sort. For example, I have OneCare
installed. By default, without OneCare, Vista would instantly see my 360
when I turned it on. However, with OneCare installed, it refused to see the
360 even when I tried. However, after going into my firewall settings and
allowing "Xbox 360 and Media Center Extenders" and "Xbox 360 and network
Media Players" under "Ports and Protocols" it saw the 360 with a pop up
message and allowed me to configure it normally from there.

I hope this helps,

Gordon

Im having exactly the same problem I have even tried deleteing the
certificate in MMC and diabling the only firewall I have running but to no
joy so any more help would be much appreciated.
