visible property

I have a form with a subform to input data. On that form
is a preview report button. Also, on the form is a check
box to display certain data in a subreport of the report
or to turn certain datas visible property off on the
subreport.

How can I turn the visible property off for certain
fields on the report?

I have tried many different ways. If I go into the
subreport and open it up by itself I can get it to turn
the data to turn dynamically but when I open the report
from the form it ignores the programming.

Can someone maybe help explain the process that happens
when opening a report with a subreport from a form?

Thanks

Answered in microsoft.public.access

If you feel you need to post to more than one group please cross-post (send
the one message to all groups at once), rather than multi-post (send
individual messages to each group). In this way, all responses to your post
will be available together, regardless of what group the responder was in,
and the rest of us won't have to read your post multiple times.

See http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm for more information.

Sandra, what's the deal. If I did something wrong I
didn't know it. All I did was post two different
problems I was having individually. Not everyone may
know how to answer my questions. Amd I only posted in
the Access-Programming group.

Thanks for your advice though!

Hey brian, HERE'S the deal.

(1) You did NOT only post in the "Access-Programming group". You posted in
two completely seperate newsgroups:
microsoft.public.access
microsoft.public.access.modulesdaovba.

(2) It is VERY, VERY ANNOYING to spend time answering a question in one
newsgroup, only to see later, that someone else has already answered the
same question in some OTHER newsgroup. This is a BIG WASTE OF TIME, and
ultimately, it is very disrespectful of the people who spend vast amounts of
personal time, answering questions in these public newsgroups.

(3) When someone answers your question, but also gives you polite advice
regarding basic newsgroup etiquette, it it probably a smart move to take
their advice on board, & not play the innocent gumby.

HTH,
TC

Hi Brian,

My apologies if the post in microsoft.public.access was not from you. There
were two almost identical posts in this newsgroup and in
microsoft.public.access and both were from username "Brian". On further
inspection I see that the email addresses are different - even so, the posts
are nearly identical and were posted within minutes of one another.

Please read the netiquette article I mentioned. This really makes it clear
why we prefer limited crossposting over multiposting. This helps everyone
get the best results from the newsgroups since it keeps the entire thread
together regardless of where you (or I) post a reply.

We are all here with the same goal of helping one another - we just want to
do it in an efficient and practical manner.

No problem Brian,

I understand the confusion and now you know to look for the common prefix
"Microsoft.Public.Access". It's all about educating one another and perhaps
my original reply should have been toned down a bit so you (or anyone else)
would know that I didn't feel you had committed an egregious error, just a
small procedual one.
