XP Home (was) booting to RAID 0, now after XP starts to load, machine shuts
down automatically. Tried to repair XP, but asks for the admin password (??)

The first prompt for repair refers to "Recvery Console" and ask for password.
This is not what yuo want.
You want install windows option, then repair.
