How can I view encrypted files on a slave harddrive which
was previously a primary HDD before it's motherboard
failed?
I tried the slave as a primary HDD on the new m-board but
a blue screen comes up after the Windows screen.

Would replacing the m-board with an identical one work or
is there another way?

Did you backup the private key to a floppy diskette? If so, follow the steps
listed in the following article to restore the private key:

Since you replaced the motherboard with a different model, you're more than
likely receiving a Stop 0x7b because the Hal or Disk Controller differs from
the original motherboard. Using an identical motherboard as the original
will get you around this issue. If you're unable to find an identical
motherboard, an in-place upgrade may resolve the issue.

Jeff,
I found an indentical motherboard and the harddrive boots
correctly however, the C: drive is inaccessible (it is not
full) whereas the D: drive (a partition) is accessible.

I can't access the files that I thought I could just
unencrypt. (I don't know how these files were encrypted
anyhow).

If I can't find the security key, can the data files be
salvaged? (through tech support or a professional service)
