I'm trying to post a short QuickTime video (.mov) using FP 2003. I'd like to
not have it download until requested by a visitor. First choice would be to
incorporate it within the web page that contains the link to the .mov file;
second choice would be to have it open in a properly sized (small) new
window. I can't figure out how to do either one (even though I have a couple
of FP books). I don't understand what the "insert plug-in" web component
accomplishes. (I get a box in my page containing the name of the mov file
but it doesn't seem to do anything). I also can't get the "open browser
window" behavior to work here (trying to open a small window to play the
movie after clicking to download it). For now, I've got my hyperlink with a
target frame of _blank to open a new window, but it's full-sized (I suppose I
could try using frames to put the video in). Is there a resource available
where I can learn how to do this?

Insert Plugin puts a "mini" version of Quicktime player (or other media player,
depending on the file type) embedded in your site so it plays your files. The
player is essentially the "plug-in".

If you do the Insert Plugin, all you do is specify the *.mov file and path to
that file (or the URL) and if the user has Quicktime, then it should start
automatically, or if you want the user to initiate the play-back, create a
normal hyperlink to the *.mov file.

www.jimcoaddins.com has a "spawn" plugin for FP that does the popup window thing
you wanted, where you can specify the size of the window, and the position on the
screen, eg. opens in top corner of screen, or centred on the screen etc.
