VBscript/Web service capability question

Hi all,
is it possible to post to a Web service via a custom button from within a
custom message-based form,
AND receive a status back?
i.e
user clicks a custom button, some info (like recipient address) is passed to
the web service, and then a status is returned to the outlook form to be
further manipulated.

VB script is the key element (i.e. can the above be accomplished strictly
via VBScript?)
Thanks in advance,
-George
