Hi guys I needed to split my xbox 360 and pc going into my monitor

I got this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LP-2-PORT-HDMI...742.m153.l1262

Item works fine except one massive flaw

at the moment I wanted to test it so I put input 1 going from switch to xbox and then output going from hdmi to dvi cable into monitor.

It worked fine no problems BUT when I pressed input 2 button and went back to input 1 it power cycled (Restarted) my xbox 360. As you can imagine this was very annoying.

I e-mailed the bloke who sold it about this. His response was this:

Hi,

There maybe fault with the cable you are using as it maybe not be v1.3 as
it needs to be for it to work,

Well anyway is he chatting out of his khyber pass? Or is there any truth in this?

Yeah there is

The 360 can be reset using the switch on the HDMI/Composite cable by simply flicking the switch

Not sure how though. Might be something to do with a blanking signal be sent telling the xbox to reset and boot into the opposite mode.

Turn off the recommended settings.

Break your computer and learn to fix it.

how is this different from my monitor?

input 1: VGA for PC

input 2 : DVI xbox 360

it doesn't power cycle when I press the source button on my monitor.
