Greetings,

This is a known issue and it deals with the Windows
Installer, Adobe and Windows Messenger 5.
You could've reinstalled Windows Messenger 5 from the
website to correct it.

The conflict between Messenger 5.0 and adobe acrobat
still exists after reinstalling windows messenger 5 from
the website.......what is going on? I thought downloadable
programs were supposed to have most or all of the
possible bugs looked after properly? is this what is
called a "beta" version with microsoft relying on the
public to find out all the "bugs"?

Greetings,

Yes, there's more work you have to do to fix this problem, I didn't elaborate in that
previous posting as the problem had already been resolved.

To fully fix this, first, completely uninstall Windows Messenger by, by first
making sure that Windows Messenger is shut down (right-click its icon in the notification
area/system tray, and choose Exit), then click Start, then Run, and type in the following:
msiexec /x {4A432C6C-1E20-4266-95D1-5782349C6C62}
then click OK and after uninstallation, reinstall Windows Messenger 5 from:
