What do you mean by "fax server"? Also which build of Vista are you using?

Vista build 5308. During setup of the fax client you have the choose of
using a modem or a network fax server. I can only assume that the fax client during account setup is referring to Windows Fax Services; which i have running on a windows 2003 server std ed. I'm honestly not sure whether they've tested it with Windows Server 2003 or

If you have a datafax modem in your PC, thats what you will use to fac if
you are not on a network. Why would I want to supply 100 users with a modem in each machine? Why
not control faxes from a central location? Again, my question is has anyone gotten netowrk faxing working using build 5308 (or any build for that matter) and what steps did you take to accomplish this goal. As long as you set up your Fax Server on Windows Server 2003/2003 R2
properly for it to work with Windows XP clients, it should work exactly the same with Vista. To be honest, I'm not sure if i have fax services miss configured or
configure properly due to the lack of documentation that exists on technet.
