I was trying to advance my presentation using the
projector's remote control. It would not work. The
laptop was running windows xp home and powerpoint 2002.
Is there a setting that needs to be set on the software?
I was able to use a different laptop and the remote
worked fine. This laptop was running windows xp
professional and powerpoint 2002.

Sometimes, your projector's remote includes some software drivers - it might
install a "Human Interface Device" driver.

Have you checked the projector manufacturer's support site?
