I experienced a HD failure and am now trying to use ARS to
reload my sytem. After booting from the XP CD the sytem
partitions the HD successfully then asks me to load the
ARS floppy which I do and it continues. It then asks me
to load the Operation System Backup media and it hangs.
After laoding the proper tape nohting happens. Backup is
running and it has a status of Mounting, but nothin
happens.
What am I doing wrong?

Michael:

Thanks for the references. After reviewing the references
it appers to me that if have upgraded my verions of XP to
either SP1 or SP1A and my original CD is not either of
these, then I cannot use ARS to reload my system in the
evend of an HD replacement. Is my intrepretation
correct? If so it appears to me that ARS had very little
utility.
