Ideal solution in your case would be to configure a NIS server (eg: the one
in SFU) and map NIS users to Windows. Meaning you get syncing and updates
with no overhead.
If you insist on periodic syncing of passwd/group - you can use NFS
server/client, ftp, samba...endless possibilities, really.
