I just got a CanoScan LiDE 60 (primarily because it was the only
scanner local stores carried that also showed up as supported
under linux), and was surprised to find that it was USB poweered.
It doesn't scan quite as fast as the older scanner I had with
an enormous powercube that was impossible to plug it conveniently,
but it seems to work fine, I haven't noticed any problems with it.
It also takes up a lot less space than the older scanner.
