Hi,

I'm trying to help a customer of ours who is having the same problem as this
post from this newsgroup in 2003:

Hello! I am having a big problem while connecting ADSL
Modem using the USB port. As soon as it
is connected, the window pops up "UNSAFE REMOVAL OF
DEVICE" and so many windows keep opening
continuously. What is the problem please? We tried with
different models of ADSL modems and all
have the same problem. Can you help please!!!

I was advised by IBM to update Windows 2000 service pack
to Ser.pack 4. I did that with great difficulty. You
know, the dial up lines are terribly slow and it took me 6
hours to update to service pack 4.

Still, it is the same problem. Can you help please?

So it rears its ugly head in 2005, modem is a Dynalink ale800 usb modem, not
sure of custs mobo etc,
but OS is win 2000 with latest SP's. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Max
