Do a full Virus Scan and delete all affected files!

innocuous file names. Try downloading Ad-Aware SE and
Spybot Search and Destroy, update both and run both.
Both of these programs are free. If you have a Norton
Antivirus cd, you can set your BIOS to boot from the cd-
drive (usually accessed by hitting Delete or one of the
Function keys right after your monitor light turns green
during boot-up) and run Norton before Windows even
loads. Good luck.

Norton AV has heuristic logic to detect malware by behavior, even if
not recognised otherwise - a technique that is somewhat prone to
"false positives". They call that facility "Bloodhound", so the
"Bloodhound" you see isn't a particular virus; just something that was
detected heuristically.

As traditional antivirus is weak on commercial malware, while
commercial malware is increasingly aggressive...

....is good advice, esp. if you do that from Safe Mode.

Green? Black, usually - as in, white text on black...

That's neat - but how does NAV access up-to-date scanning signature
data? From the infected HD? Can it read off a USB or camera instead?

If so, might just be worth buying NAV after all, for field work.
