Hi I have and NT4Server based network with 1 PDC and 3 BDCs, If I install a
new NT4 BDC and promote it to Win2000Server? If this does not pan out, can I
take the Win2000Server offline and Promote one of the NT4Server BDCs to PDC
and revert back to my NT4Server domain?
If not is there another way of allowing roll back to the NT4 Domain?

Thanks for any help
Mark H

Mark

You can take one BDC off the network before upgrading, and in the worst
case take your Win2000 server off the network, connect your BDC and promote
it to PDC again.

Also, see this MS Knowledge Base article:

Best regards

Thanks Bjorn, as long as I can role back to the NT4 domain that should be
fine.
Do you think it would be better to go the Win3k Server route instead??

Mark

That would probably be a better option, if it doesn't add extra complexity
to the upgrade. This MS Knowledge Base article points to a whitepaper that
probably would answer most of your questions:
