My computer came with MSN and all of its components and I'm trying to
uninstall all of it but you can't simply do it through "Add/Remove
Programs" in the Control Panel. I tried to click on the "Add/Remove
Windows Components" tab and it listed MSN as one of those things but would
not let me uninstall it. Is there any way of getting it off of my machine
or is this just Microsoft's way of ****ing me off? Thanks for the help.

Microsoft designed the operating system. If they choose to make something
unremovable, that's their business. If you want to remove it - get an
education so you can learn how to be a better programmer than those that
Microsoft employs.

I always love posts such as yours because they are sooo stupid!

Greetings,

You can completely remove Windows Messenger (4.7) but if you do, you will be preventing
Remote Assistance, Whiteboard, and Application Sharing from working.

However, if you don't use this functionality that would be disabled by removing Messenger,
you can simply remove it by closing down Messenger if it's running (right click the messenger
icon in the notification area/system tray and click close). Then click the start button,
then click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like):
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click OK.
Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and screenshots, go to,
