I have been trying out AVG Free Edition and now want to uninstall it.

The problem I have is that when I run Uninstall from the Start Menu or
Control Panel Add/Remove I get a GPF Box saying: GPF in Module
SETUP.EXE at 0001:0EDC.
Click on close.

I have even tried downloading a new version but this does the same at
Install.

How do I uninstall AVG Free Edition?

Thanks

Have you closed it down before you uninstall?

Yes, I close down the icon in the systray, but still get the same
message.

If you do a control-alt-delete, you should find that the server portion of
AVG (that controls the updates) is still running. You can shut down this
task and then should be able to uninstall the software.
For some reason, I have found that this program still runs after you right
click and take out the program from the taskbar.

Double click on the AVG icon, and select "Disable Resident Shield", before
you shutdown the control center. Just shutting down the CC does'nt shuthdown
the shield.
