When I try to run the disk-cleanup, it goes about 1/4 of
the bar forward and after some time the program goes not
responding and I have to end the task. It occurs every
time.

Try typing:cleanmgr In run,then use the utility.
Before that open Adm.,services,scroll down to Windows
Installer,start service.(in control-panel)

Sorry but I could not find Adm. services. where are they?

When I went on the sites given by you, I noticed that
editing the registry can cause serious problems. In
addition I dont know how to back up registry and restore
it. So is this okay if I download the registry and run
it?
