TV out problem

I posted this once and didn't get any responses. I'll give it one more
shot.

I've got a Radeon 7000 card in a Windows XP Pro computer that I'm trying to
use
as an MP3 player. I want to use my TV as the only monitor, connected to the
TV output of the card.

I can connect the TV with a monitor and view the video in Windows just fine
on both the TV and the monitor. When I disconnect the monitor, connect only
the TV, and reboot, Windows locks up on boot. Even after I disconnect the
TV and reconnect the monitor, Windows continues to lock up on boot and I
have to change the video card to get back into Windows.

I tried a Radeon 9200SE card, assuming that the video card was the problem,
but the 9200SE behaves exactly the same way.

I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone might have. Thanks.

I am pretty sure you have to have one logical monitor
plugged in at all times.
