http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml is a handy tool to disable the live
updater.
Of course you can also achieve this through start > msconfig, or through
regedit, manually deleting the Asus live update entry from HKLM/Run, but
Startup is a nifty utility, ending up in your control panel, easy to use.
I don't know exactly how the live update app is called (as I removed it
myself), but you'll identify it quickly enough with Startup.
