yellow help bubbles that pop up everytime I move my mouse over something in

Actually, I would recommend using the lastest Microsoft version of TweekUI,
2.00.1.0. It, and the other powertoys are designed and work for both XP Pro
and Home.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p.../powertoys.asp

There are a number of other very usefull programs at this location. I
particularly appreciate the graphing calculator.

If you do not want to downlaod XP powertoys then you can do this to turn off
balloon tips in applications that support XP Themes:

A: Start Regedit
B: Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advance
d\
C: Create a DWORD value of EnableBalloonTips
D: Give it a value of 0

0 is for disable
1 is for enable

While in where? Apparently you have no concept or know how to quote a post
you're responding to.

Hi,

I think the poster was referring to the Taskbar setting in TweakUI (uncheck
"enable balloon tips"). You may also want to read this:

Thanks Rick,
Found the setting you were talking about in TweekUI but it had absolutly no
effect on the Taskbar. Then checked out that how-to article about disabling
balloon tips in XP, gave it a try and it too had absolutly no effect
either..!! So will I be eternally reminded of what everything is on my
desktop even though I already know what everything does...?
