I had MS agents previous to upgrading to windows 2000 and
now they don't work. I've gone to the MS support pages,
I've downloaded all the files, installed them - the TTs
engine, the MS engine, the control panel, core components,
the agents - all of them and the internal sound Fx work
but the agent's don't move their mouths and there is no
sound. I do have audio, speakers, card etc. and they work
fine.
In the speech control panel I see the listings for
TruVoice, L&H TTS3000, and MSSE, the runtime files,
everything suggested, and even the British American
version but TV and MSSE, when I click them I get this
message:
there was a problem in trying to access this engine's
settings (0x80040317) check to make certain that the
speech engine is properly installed
In the TTS3000, I get the properties tabs, etc. and can
change the settings but when I test the playback, nothing
happens. When the agents appear (via cyberbuddy) nothing
happens...they just "hang out" and no lip moving
I'm using windows professional and the admin privs changes
as suggested don't apply to this machine - it's just me
and under admin so I have no idea what the problem is.
PLEASE let me know if you have any suggestions on how to
get these agents talking! Thanks.
PS email:
(E-Mail Removed) is quicker - it took me 2
hours just to find this group! Thanks in advance to anyone
who might be able to help me fix this problem. It's
driving me nuts.
