I have used custom animation and custom paths to draw a path on a pneumatics
diagram that I want to animate a flow on, either by a series of moving dots
or arrows. I have managed to achieve one moving dot using the custom paths
option but I cannot seem to be able to show multiple dots moving around the
path simultaneously. Is it possible to do this or am I trying to achieve the
impossible. Any suggestions help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Try this:

Set up your dot or whatever to run along a path from A to B. With previous
and repeat until end of slide (probably)

Now copy the shape and paste another copy in. Position over the first and
change the delay to eg 0.5 secs. You can repeat this increasing the delay
each time. Make sure the delay is less than the running time.

Hope that makes sense. If it doesn't get back and I'll post a demo on our
site.

Hey Vic,
I work in the networking business and have a similar need.

I recently produced a presentation that uses extensive "flow" animation
effects and I'd be happy to send it to you.

You can email me at spudmachine at yahoo dot com.

I can also produce a simplified version of the animation for you to practice
with.

Cheers,
Geoff

Thanks for the info John, that worked very well. My only problem now is the
flow, even though I have set the speed to "very slow" i.e 5 seconds. this
appears to be the limit. Is there any means of getting slower options. The
reason I need this is because the path length is quite long, the dots move
pretty rapidly to scan the path in five seconds. Because I am showing two
paths in different colours the moving dots are causing two much movement on
screen and spoiling the presentation. The other option is to have one dot
moving around the path whose trail remains coloured where it has already
travelled. Is this possible to achieve. Thanks very much for your help,
regards Vic
