>I did some antique home recordings by using the sound

recording software that came with my sound card.
Created .wav files then transfered them to media player.
if you have a lot you will need to get software to convert
them from .wav files to .wma or mp3 types. I also found
some neat software that allowed my to take out noise etc.
on the old recordings. Took a lot of time but it was fun.
Now hopfully the stuff will be around for a while.
Good luck.

What you have to do is use a "stero phono cable". Find a
tape player in your house that has a "audio out" plug. Go
to Radio Shack or someplace and get the cable. Plug one
side into the tape player and the other into the line in
on the back of your computer. If you have Windows Movie
Maker or another recorder on your computer go on that.
Pick the place where you want to record, "Line In" and
play the tape when you click the record button on your
computer. It will record onto your computer. (If you want
you can also make a CD from the tape with a CD burner if
you have it.)
