Hi,

I am quite new to DNS...
What I want to do is I have 1 DNS server with over 70 different zones,
all with various MX, A, etc records. I want to rebuild the DNS server
with more reliable Hardware (The previous Comp is over 10 years old,
and others of the same model are starting to go on the fritz...) to be
on the safe side. Instead of rebuilding the new server by manually
entereing in all the zones, SOA, MX, A records which will take a chunk
of time, is there a way transfer over all the zones to the new server?
If I transfer over all the .dns files to the new servers
WINT/system32/dns folder, and do a reload will it automatically update
the zones? That is about the only idea I have. Thanks to all who
respond.

Use DNSDump available from www.reskit.net/scripts to export and import all
zones.
