Hi,

Note that with 4.20.0078 TrackerV3 has come to an end.

It is continued under the name XYplorer [eks-wai-plorer].
--> http://www.xyplorer.com/

Everything else stays the same.
Only that the app is getting better and better...

Donald

Donald,

Why, oh why? I had always thought the V3 confusing since most apps use
it to refer to versions/releases, but why XYplorer? I can now add this
to the 7 zillion other applications, utilities, processes, tools,
browsers, etc. on my WinXP box named explorer or some variant thereof.

IMO, it is time for MS, and anyone not walking around on the surface
of Mars, to give the word "explorer" a rest. But that is just my
opinion, I could be wrong.

BTW, your product is great, I need to use it more than I do.

Ron

Well, it's the only one with a big Y! Or, as you would say, a big WHY

Forget the "plorer" just call it XY! The -plorer is just a 21st century
suffix denoting a file manager. (BTW, it's from Latin "plorare" and
originally means to cry out!) I changed the name to make it clear to
*everybody* what the app is about. And also, I can't tell you how happy I am
that I got rid of this "V3" idiocy. And, finding a new name (with an unused
..com domain!) isn't easy nowadays. I'm very satisfied with this one!

Congratulations on a truly fantastic freeware file manager. It beats
even commercial options. Great job.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I am not so sure what you heard is not what I meant.

Don't know. Never ever heard of this one. A quick research tells me it might
be connected with XYplorer's HTML preview, which is using an IE object.
Whatever, the question remains: why you and not anybody else?
Does this happen everytime you run XY?
Did you try to run it without INI file (giving it a fresh start)?

Seconded, but I would have preferred the name to be just XY. I think the
tendency would be to pronounce XYplorer as zyplorer (as in xylophone) rather
than exwhyplorer as intended. But in TrackerV3 the name was confusing when
version 4 appeared.

I got the error on the first run and every time after that. It doesn't get
far enough to generate an INI file. I copied the V3 INI file into the XY
folder with the same rusult.

May be something funky on my machine.

So, you are saying the last TrackerV3 works alright and XYplorer doesn't
even start? That would be really funky... maybe your machine does not like
the new name. There ain't many more differences yet.

Yes, I still have the last version of V3 installed, which works just fine.
XY always gives the same error message. Possibly a COM issue, although I
have no other COM issues.
