Thumbs up Good guide for starters!

If you were contemplating going for Linux but were afraid to, here is a nice guide which can give you that confidence you may be lacking to experiment.

Linux Guide for Starters

Just for your information the possibility of a Linux based rig being infected with a virus is just ONE percent compared to Windows.

A computer running the Mandrake Linux operating system can be as easy to use as a computer which uses Windows or Mac OS -- a fact which has been Confirmed by many IT publications.

I use Mandrake 10 and I find it far better for internet browsing since I need not worry about my system being infected and also the speed of the browsing is anywhere between 25% and 50% faster whether you are using dial up or broadband connection. I have tested this on three different machines and with different type of connections and all the time the results were same.

Give it a try you may not want to browse again using Windows!
