Just thought you all might be interested in knowing the results of the election held here in Québec yesterday. The Parti Québecois was finally dethroned after several years in power. The Liberal party won. Hopefully we'll start to see some more advances in healthcare (where we're already one of the best in the world...it's all free) and taxes. Plus, the Liberals aren't separatists.

Well both referendums for separation were lost, but were very close. However, I think more and more people are now against it (since the last referendum in 1994). Traditionally, the english in Québec have been pro-liberal and thus federalists, and the french have been pro-PQ and separatists. However, this time around, a new party, the ADQ, came a stole some votes from the PQ, and that's why the PQ didn't get re-elected.
