Default Article Bot?

While looking on the member list, the highest posting member is a "Article Bot", and this has a phenomenal number of posts compared to anyone else, yet i havent seen posts from Article Bot anywhere on the forums.

I'm just curious, what exactly is the Article Bot, and what is it's purpose?

There's a bit on the left menu with news sections, they haven't been updated in a few weeks and are being removed as the articlebot went crazy one day last month!
