I can't manage to do a direct network between my laptop and my desktop.

The desktop runs on win98 while the laptop's on win2000 pro. I tried couple of the network neighborhood tolls that win ofered , but they don't seem to be doing the job. Maybe it's just me, but it's hard lol . Can anyone help me out ? thanks

What sort or networking cards are you using?

I'd recommend checking out http://www.wown.com/ and reading the Win 98/2000 sections, it is full of handy networking information
