Post Thread Chatter

Quite alot of the forum threads are turning into general chat, which really does ruin a thread as it prevents any further discussion on it. If you have anything to say which is directed to a single person, please send it via PM.

Going "off-topic" in the Off-Topic forum isn't really a problem... but it can be very confusing in hardware threads when the conversation turns to chit chat.

This doesn't effect 99.9% of the posts on here, but just a "heads up" to the few posts that do.

Its no problem to have chat in off topic, its just some threads have gone waaaaaaaaaay off topic in the last few days. Just a compromise between keeping threads on track whilst still having a proper debate

perhaps the forum title 'off topic' is not well understood,. perhaps 'general chat' or some such would make it easier to spot?

Thats a good point actually - Off topic means off topic from computers, but not off topic within threads.
