Default Need MM2, but can't find it!

I have been trying to download MM2, but it says that it is included with SP2.
I have SP2, but do not have MM2. HOw can I get it? I cannot find a link

Hello,

If you run Windows Explorer and go to this location...

C:\Program Files\Movie Maker

you should find moviemk.exe

Right click it and select copy. Then close down Windows Explorer so that you
can see the desktop...Right click anywhere on the desktop and select
Paste...when asked take the option to create a shortcut...

Job Done

Hello,

Something has gone wrong big time then...that directory and file is always
there with an install of XP. It has therefore been deleted.

To put matters right you can either install Service Pack 2 or re-install XP (a
bit dramatic and not really needed at this time)

Hello again,

Just had a thought...in windows explorer click on TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW
and make sure that "Hide Extensions for known file types" is NOT
checked....some idiot at microsoft put that one in....why in gods name they
think you would not be interested in the file name extension when using a file
viewer is quite beyond me.....if as a result your Movie Maker exe shows up then
continue with my first suggestion

I have only had the computer for 5 months, and it came straight from Dell
with XP already on the system. I have also installed SP2, but still no
MM2?????

Hello,

Yes you have said that before. Have you tried the advice about hiding file
name extensions...Yes or No.

Hello,

It would seem then that if you have enabled the ability to see ALL file
extensions and the EXE is still not visible, BUT, you can see the project
files where the EXE should be (and the project files should not be there by
the way) that you have a critical error....you could try getting a mate to
give you a copy of the EXE and putting it into its correct location and if
that does not work I would re-install XP and SP2.

For the future, its not a good idea to delete files in an add-hoc manner
and unless you know why and what you are doing it is not a good idea
changing the default location for where files are changed. It seems fairly
clear that this is what you have done and followed it up by deleting the
wrong files
