Hello,
1st. You do not actually import the file the import function is badly named, all that really happens is a note is made of where it is....just like any other play list. So... To import the file into Movie Maker click on Tasks and then Import Audio or Music. You will then be shown a standard navigation window that will only show you files that Movie Maker can handle. BUT, there is a problem. Some of those file types are not handled very well. The files types you should look for have a filename extension of WAV or WMA. Using WAV files is preferred for some minor reasons....because WAV files are not compressed it means that Movie Maker will process them a little faster than any other file type....if you have only got WMA files and if you are not experienced in converting them, then leave them as they are and import the WMA. If your actual problem is down to Digital Rights Management not allowing you to import your audio it will be because you have that feature turned on in whatever program you used to download that file. To remove the digital rights....grab a free copy of MusicMatch from www.musicmatch.com and install it. Using Music Match add the audio files to the burn list and create an ordinary audio disc. Then, using Music Match Rip that CD. This will create a new set of files on your hard drive. You will then be able to use this new set of files in Movie Maker....REMEMBER TO ENSURE THAT THE DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGER OPTION IN MUSIC MATCH IS TURNED OFF. Unlike (from what others tell me) Windows Media Player Music Match does as it is told and if you have DRM turned off it will NEVER add that level of control over your files -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org www.the-kellys.co.uk Check out free video hosting at www.the-kellys.org ---- \|||/ (oo) ----------ooO-(_)-Ooo------------- All material gained from other sources is duly acknowledged.
