Default Poor Image Quality

I am transferring video from a Cannon camcorder that uses the miniDV tapes.
When transferring, the quality in the preview of Movie Maker is slightly less
than on the view screen of the camcorder but when I play back the video from
the computer the resolution is horrible. I am using a firewire connection.
Wondering if the problem is my firewire, the moviemaker software or my
computer. The computer plays DVD's fine so I don't think it is the video
card. Since the computer has the firewire connection I would think it would
have everything necessay to transfer video. Please help.

Hello there,

Worry not, the video you see in Movie Maker is only a preview....they cut down
on the amount of CPU time needed to display the image....but when you click on
FILE > SAVE MOVIE FILE and create a |DV-AVI quality video you should find that
you have excelent quality.
